FPGA Engineer
Overview
SpaceX’s Avionics group is looking for a senior FPGA engineer to design high-reliability digital logic for flight-critical systems. You will develop Verilog and VHDL implementations of high-speed data interfaces including PCIe Gen4, 10/25 GbE, and custom sensor bridges, targeting radiation-tolerant FPGAs for orbital and crew-rated vehicles.
Work within a small, fast-moving team to own FPGA subsystems from architecture through verification and hardware integration. You will bring up prototype boards in the lab, debug with mixed-signal oscilloscopes and logic analyzers, and support qualification testing for extreme thermal and vibration environments.
This role demands deep expertise in FPGA design flow — synthesis, place-and-route, timing closure, and simulation — plus the ability to thrive in a high-ownership, launch-driven culture. Experience with RISC-V soft-core processors on FPGA is a strong plus.
