IoT Firmware Engineer
Overview
Schneider Electric’s Grenoble R&D center is seeking an IoT Firmware Engineer to develop connected industrial devices that power the next generation of smart energy management. You will work on ARM Cortex-based platforms running FreeRTOS, building firmware that bridges industrial Modbus and Ethernet networks with modern BLE-enabled IoT ecosystems. Your code will run on thousands of devices deployed across factories, data centers, and commercial buildings worldwide.
This role sits within a large, cross-functional team of firmware, hardware, cloud, and systems engineers. You will own the full firmware lifecycle — from architecture and prototyping through production qualification and field support. Experience with Modbus RTU/TCP, Ethernet TCP/IP stacks, and low-power BLE peripheral design is essential. Familiarity with IEC 61131-3 or industrial protocol gateways is a strong plus.
Schneider Electric offers a hybrid working model combining on-site collaboration at the Grenoble innovation campus with remote flexibility. You will have access to cutting-edge labs, mentorship from senior architects, and opportunities to contribute to EcoStruxure, the company’s open IoT platform. Relocation support is available for qualified candidates.
