Firmware Test Engineer
Overview
Qualcomm’s Connectivity Firmware team in San Diego is looking for a Firmware Test Engineer to build and maintain automated validation frameworks for Bluetooth LE and Wi-Fi protocol firmware. You will be the quality gate for firmware features running on billions of Qualcomm-powered smartphones, wearables, and IoT devices — from the Snapdragon Mobile platform to QCC audio SoCs.
You will develop Python-based test harnesses, extend CMake-based build pipelines for CI, write C-level hardware abstraction stubs, and run regression suites across ARM-based test targets. The role requires a blend of embedded C knowledge and software engineering discipline: you’ll design test plans for new protocol features, triage field-reported issues by writing targeted reproducers, and work side-by-side with firmware developers to close coverage gaps.
This is an onsite position at Qualcomm’s headquarters in San Diego. You’ll join a large, multi-site firmware QA organization with strong mentorship from senior architects. Engineers with a passion for reproducibility, a methodical approach to debugging, and experience with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi protocol conformance testing will thrive here.
