Senior Embedded Engineer
Overview
Danaher’s Seattle diagnostics division is looking for a Senior Embedded Engineer to architect and implement firmware for next-generation clinical diagnostic instruments. You will work on ARM-based embedded systems running embedded Linux and bare-metal controllers, developing reliable real-time control loops that drive precision fluidics, optical measurements, and thermal management subsystems. Every line of code you write operates in a regulated environment requiring full traceability and design history.
This is a hands-on technical role within a medium-sized embedded team that values deep ownership. You will collaborate closely with systems engineering, optics, and mechanical teams to define hardware-software interfaces, select MCU platforms, and ensure the system meets rigorous IEC 62304 and ISO 13485 standards. Strong C and C++ skills are required, along with deep experience with I2C and SPI sensor integration. Python is used extensively for automated test infrastructure and data analysis pipelines.
Danaher offers a hybrid schedule based at their Seattle R&D facility, a strong culture of continuous improvement (DBS), and significant investment in employee development. As a featured role, this position reports directly to the Embedded Engineering Director and carries high visibility across the diagnostics product portfolio. Relocation assistance is available.
