Automotive Embedded Engineer
Overview
Bosch’s Automotive Electronics division is looking for a mid-level Embedded Engineer to join our Stuttgart R&D center, the global heart of Bosch automotive development. You will design and implement embedded firmware for engine control units (ECUs), body control modules, and automotive gateway processors. Your work will directly influence the reliability of millions of vehicles across every major OEM.
You will develop C/C++ firmware on ARM Cortex-R and Cortex-M platforms running FreeRTOS, with heavy use of CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, and automotive Ethernet stacks. Responsibilities include writing low-level drivers, integrating AUTOSAR-compliant software components, and debugging on Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) rigs. Familiarity with ISO 26262 functional safety and model-based development in Simulink is a plus.
This is an onsite role based in Stuttgart-Feuerbach, within a large, international engineering team. Bosch offers structured mentorship, a strong emphasis on work-life balance, and clear pathways to senior technical or management tracks. German language proficiency (B2 or above) is preferred but not required.
