Senior Embedded Engineer
Overview
AMD is hiring a Senior Embedded Engineer to join our Adaptive Computing group in Austin. You will architect and implement boot firmware, secure boot chains, and low-level system software for AMD’s Versal and Zynq adaptive SoC platforms targeting aerospace, defense, and industrial automation markets. Your work bridges embedded Linux userspace, bare-metal firmware, and hardware logic.
You will develop PCIe root complex and endpoint firmware, write Linux kernel drivers for custom IP blocks, and build Python-based test automation for validation at scale. The role requires close collaboration with silicon design, board bring-up, and systems engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle from architecture through production.
The ideal candidate has 7+ years of embedded engineering experience with deep expertise in C and C++, embedded Linux (Yocto/Buildroot), and PCIe or similar high-speed serial protocols. Experience with RISC-V or ARM Cortex-A/R architectures and secure firmware development is strongly preferred.
